A wonderfully preserved set of vintage wood snowshoes made by the C.A. Lund Co. in Hastings Minnesota. They are in excellent condition and have been preserved over the years with the traditional varnish and shellack. Labels are in perfect condition.
Northland Ski Manufacturing Company was founded as the C. A. Lund
Company in Hastings, Minnesota by Norwegian-born Christian A. Lund back
in 1911. Skis, Poles, Boots, Bindings, Toboggans, and Snowshoes were
manufactured at Hastings, Minnesota, St. Paul and in Laconia, New
Hampshire. By the mid 1920’s and on into the 1930s, Northland was the
nation’s largest producer of Winter Sporting equipment.
