An example of 10th Mountain Division ski equipment.  These skis were made by the Paris Mfg Co in South Paris, Maine for the US Army.  They were painted white to act as camouflage during missions on snow covered terrain.  Most 10th Mountain Division soldiers were actually recruited by the U.S. National Ski Patrol.  Skis like these were monumental in the successful missions against the Germans in the Italian mountains.  They are marked 4-58, meaning they were made in April 1958.  This is a very unique pair of 10th Mountain skis.  Matching Serial Numbers !  11867
