Tall, Dark, Handsome..... these skis have it all. Classic Ski Decor.
Shabby chic'ers couldn't do it better than time and Mother Nature did on these. Originally these vintage wood skis had the premium black finish of the 1930s - 1940s. Over time, with plenty of schussing and apres ski - the finish has worn off to expose the solid wood underneath (not just wood core, but the wood of the ski).
The original "diamond" footplates and leather bindings (or remnants thereof) add another element of texture and style to these vintage wood skis.
One point about the "Ridgetop" that is interesting. This was an upgrade from the previous versions of a flat ski - to help with the chatter - or vibration - from skiing at high speeds. Vintage vibration dampening technology.
