A wonderful set of Groswold skis crafted in Denver, Colorado. Made from hickory, this pair represents one of Groswold’s finer models. Known as the Otto Lang model, the skis retain their original Trail Blazer Ski Sport bindings, and even the Bamberger’s Sports Center label in wonderful condition visible on each tip. It was common practice at the time for sporting goods stores to apply their own decals for branding and marketing.
The Groswold Ski Manufacturing Company was founded in 1932 by Norwegian immigrant Thor Groswold and operated in two locations throughout Denver until closing in 1952. Like many innovative ski makers, including modern brands such as Black Crows, Thor continually refined ski shapes and designs to keep pace with the evolution of the sport.
