Found in MN in 1978, these skis were part of our friends collection for 20 years - and labeled "Swamp Skis".  The story goes that the wetlands would snow over and "freeze" early in the season, but there was a chance you could still break through the ice so these skis were homemade to support the weight of the traveller even if the ice underfoot broke.  These are almost 10 feet long. Very impressive pair of skis.
