Ribbed Basket - Split Reed fishing creel.  You can really see the quality construction on this basket.  The leather hand handle has severed, but the Canvas shoulder strap has been rigged as a nice handle.   This classic style fishing creel is in still in very good shape, but there is a small tear in the leather in the corner.  There is also a slight bit of loosening on a few rows of the weaving on the lid, but to me - this only adds to the authenticity, and vintage look.  This is the style creel we would use in our own cabin or fishing lodge.  Prop it up on the bookshelf, or use it on the bottom shelf of the end table to create ideal fishing lodge decor.
