Think your faux fur lined Salomon ski boots are uncomfortable, think again. We have heard our fair share of horror stories from old timers who actually wore mountain boots fitted with tricouni hobnails for ski warfare in WWII. They recollected these metal additions were “like packing your boots with snow….the cold would travel directly through all the metal into your feet….coldest boots I ever wore”.
