The Tubbs Snowshoe Company was originally founded by Walter Tubbs in Norway, Maine, in 1906 as a manufacturer of ash snowshoes, skis, sleds, and furniture. In the 1940s the company moved to Vermont and was manufacturing close to 100,000 pairs of wooden snowshoes per year, many of which were used by Allied troops in World War II.

This set of Antique Tubbs Snowshoes is marked “Made by W.F. Tubbs Co Norway Maine U.S.A.” They are an extremely large and rare example of Tubbs Snowshoes in excellent condition that could work well for use today. Keep them on your wall as Vintage Winter decor and then when that snowstorm hits wake up early and enjoy the peace and quite that is only experienced walking on wooden snowshoes.
