A never mounted example of 10th Mountain Division ski equipment.  These skis were made by the Northland Ski Co of Laconia, New Hampshire for WWII.  They were painted white to act as camouflage during missions on snow covered terrain.  Most 10th Mountain Division soldiers were actually recruited by the U.S. National Ski Patrol.  Skis like these were monumental in the successful missions against the Germans in the Italian mountains.  This set has never been mounted with bindings.  They are marked 5-43, meaning they were made in May 1943.  This is a very unique pair of 10th Mountain skis.
